It was a beautiful, snowy day.
For some crazy reason, Isaac and I decided to "brave the weather" and make a Target run. Neither of us had proper snow shoes, so we figured, normal shoes with two pairs of socks would work out just fine.
Fact - wearing two pairs of socks DOES keep your feet warmer.
Fact - normal shoes are NOT waterproof, thus the slush will still seep through and soak your two pairs of socks.
Fact - having cold, wet feet for a couple of hours results in a semi-serious frost bite. Not pleasant. Apparently though, massaging your feet for a while helps with the frost bite. I'm definitely buying snow boots before I head out to Target in 4 inches of snow.
We actually brought a camera with us to the Target, to take pictures of my first snow (in a while, anyway) and as we decided to take a picture at the light rail station, we realized there was no memory card in the camera. FAIL! So sadly enough, I have zero pictures of myself in the snow today. Luckily, other people who own cameras (and keep the memory cards inside, thank you very much!) actually took some pictures, so I'll just "borrow" theirs and post them here! Yay for Facebook.
So yeah, this was campus today. It's a little gloomy, but it really was not that bad. It's not even as cold as it seems. We weren't below freezing, so if it hadn't been for the wind, a normal sweater would have been alright to go out in. And snow boots.
Note to self - buy snow boots.
