Dear blog,
PHEWWW! What a busy busy week! I'm amazed I got through it without any severe panic attacks. I suppose I owe a lot of that to Jack who kept me mentally sane when I thought I couldn't do it anymore.
I never got a chance to finish the post about the burlesque...I might do that next. Now, I shall jot down a summary of my hectic week.
Monday - A normal day, with normal classes. I actually contributed in Crockett's class, for once. At the dress rehearsal for the Honors Play, my group totally screwed up. One person missed a line and everyone forgot everything. We were in costume, on stage, with lights and everything and we couldn't even get through to the end. We had to go run the lines again and fix all the mistakes. The second run through went well, with only minimal damage. My costume is pretty cute. I'm the mad hatter. I think I'll post pics once I take them tomorrow night.
After the dress rehearsal, I started to panic because I had a paper due for Quanbeck's religion class on a book I never even read. I looked up summaries and quotes, and ended up writing a pretty decent paper, I think. Unfortunately, I did not have time to write a review for The Learned Ladies, and had to postpone that to next week.
Tuesday - I was so tired from sleeping late to finish the paper. In acting, we had to do yoga and I was wearing a tight mini skirt. That did not work out well, at all! Then we mostly worked on monologues throughout the period. In English, Swanson couldn't make it to class (she was in Kansas or something) so we all met in the library to do research. I mostly talked about tossing pie in Jack's face on a FB group chat, but I did find good resources for my paper...well, one or two anyway. Then I went to my beloved job where I got to open the mail (my favorite job) and it was this dude's birthday so we had a very yummy carrot cake with lots of frosting and cream. I like Tuesdays because that's when everyone works. Jamyang, Lauren, Gary, Annette, Mary, and me! Only Katie doesn't work with us on Tuesdays. After work, I cannot remember what happened. I probably had something due Wednesday that I stressed out about or something. I dunno.
...You know what? Let's skip to Friday. I didn't like this week. It was stressful, let's leave it at that.
So today, I woke up to not one, not two, but three alarms. I had left my phone set to 7:00 am, because that's when I wake up when I want to get up on time. About a minute after I hit my snooze, Bethany's alarm went off. Two minutes after that, our iHome goes off (it's usually the most annoying little beepy thing but if I'm not mistaking it actually played a loud rock song today...) and at that point, I didn't even realize it was beeping until Bethany turned it off. I tucked my head under the blanket and slept through another hour. At 8:30, I woke up and did something...who knows what? I got dressed all pretty in my new, teal (yes, Mr. Jack who will be reading this, TEAL) shirt and a skirt and tights and my cutesy flats, and I went to chapel to watch the Cedar Singers (also known as the manliest man choir full of manliness) perform. Then I chilled and had lunch with Michael until work at 12:10. Mary (my awesome boss) was out for the day, so I picked up the mail, opened, stamped, and sorted it, and then entered all the data in the system. Yellow file empty once again. Yay! (I will explain the filing system in another post, so bear with me.) Then I was left with 20 minutes and nothing to do, so I filed away some folders. And yup, I get paid to do stuff like that. It's fun. Then, I went to choir where we sang with the previously mentioned manly man choir and we sounded like little angels of heaven, though we all had atrociously fake British accents in order to keep our vowels LONG and ELEGANT (I wish I could add audio to emphasize the concept of 'long' and 'elegant' vowels.) After choir, I went back to my room, did nothing, then went to dinner with Jack (and Isaac and Alex and a bunch of peeps), then did nothing, then did nothing with Jack, then at 6:50 we both went to watch Isaac and Alex perform in a short play directed by Eric Dobratz.
The play was great. Funny. The actors were very good. Isaac played the part better than I thought he would have, not that I mean to say he's not a talented actor, but that he was totally not himself in the role and that is what makes an actor really good. And the swearing...wow! I was super impressed. Alex is just great. I'm still going to have nightmares from Isaac's shiny, gay shirt and the intense, gay make out session. After the show, Michael and his very funny roommate Brian came to visit my room, for some weird reason, and then Jack came too (it was way to cold to walk out for pizza, regardless of the social pleasures it would have entailed). Brian's funny.
Now, I am enjoying the presence of awesomeness in my room, in peace and quiet, with a lamp for atmosphere, my aesthetically appealing laptop, my delightful blog, and music. Food is available, too.
New post, unrelated to my week, shall be up later. For now, enjoy my new catchy song.
